トムラウシ山：午後は霧雨と視程低下。濡れと低体温に備えろ

午前7時15分現在、山頂は快晴。気温8.1℃、体感は6.7℃と肌寒い。山麓との気温差は9.5℃と大きく、行動開始から適切なレイヤリングが必要となる。日中は薄曇りから曇りへと天候が変化し、午後3時からは弱い霧雨が予想される。地面は全体的にウェット傾向となり、ロックガーデンなどの巨岩帯は滑りやすくなるため、足元には十分な注意を払うこと。午後の霧雨による濡れは低体温症のリスクを高める。気温は15時で11.7℃だが、風速1.82m/sの風と霧雨で体感はさらに低下する。防水透湿性のアウターは必須装備であり、汗冷えや濡れ対策として速乾性のベースレイヤーと保温性のあるミッドレイヤーを携行すること。特にトムラウシ山は「本州3000m級相当の気象」とされ、2009年の遭難事故のように気象急変の可能性も常に頭に入れておくべきだ。現在の視程は1.7kmだが、午後の霧雨で容易に視程が悪化する可能性がある。北沼や南沼の天空湿原のような開けた場所では、濃霧発生時の道迷いリスクが非常に高い。GPSや地図、コンパスを常に確認し、ルートファインディングには細心の注意を払うこと。トムラウシは日帰り困難なロングコースであり、行動計画には余裕を持ち、悪天候時の引き返し判断も迅速に行うこと。
