Compared to the nearly clear sky and 14.9℃ at the base, the summit is over 10℃ colder, presenting a vastly different environment on the ridge. Drizzle and rain will persist throughout the day, with precipitation peaking around noon. During this period, temperatures will drop to 4.3℃, and with gusts, the felt temperature could fall below minus 5℃.
Ground conditions are wet and muddy as the remaining snow begins to melt. Boulder fields like the rock garden will be slippery when wet, requiring extreme caution with footing. Given the high humidity and potential for sudden visibility reduction due to dense fog, carrying a map, compass, and GPS for navigation is essential to prevent getting lost.
For cold weather protection, wear a quick-drying base layer, and layer a fleece or thin down jacket as a mid-layer. A waterproof and breathable outer shell (rain gear) is mandatory.
