Tomuraushi summit is currently clear, but clouds are expected after 9 AM, with light drizzle starting around noon. Daytime summit temperatures will hover between 8-9°C, with a wind chill making the felt temperature around 5-6°C. A 2cm snow depth remains, and with rising temperatures, the ground will be a mix of wet snow patches and muddy sections. The elevated wetlands of Kita-numa and Minami-numa will likely be particularly boggy, making footing unstable. The giant rock formations in the Rock Garden will also be slick when wet, requiring careful navigation.

Appropriate gear is essential for today's conditions. Crampons are not necessary, but waterproof hiking boots and trekking poles will be beneficial for the wet ground and remaining snow. As light drizzle is forecast, a full set of waterproof rain gear is mandatory. Given the low felt temperatures, warm layers such as fleece or a light down jacket, gloves, and a hat must also be carried.

Daytime gusts may reach up to 11.2 m/s, which is not strong enough to impede movement, but combined with drizzle, it will contribute to lower felt temperatures. Tomuraushi is a long course that is difficult to complete in a day, and weather in the depths of the Daisetsuzan mountain range can change rapidly. While a severe temperature drop like the 2009 accident is not forecast, prolonged exposure to wet conditions can increase the risk of hypothermia. The temperature difference between the summit and base is a significant 9°C; therefore, an early start and flexible itinerary are crucial.
