Mount Tsurugi summit area is experiencing light rain, with temperatures around 8.8°C and a perceived temperature of 6.8°C. The temperature difference from the base is 5.6°C. Rain is forecast throughout the day, with precipitation increasing in the afternoon and gusts reaching up to 12.6 m/s. This persistent rain will make all rock faces and ridges wet, increasing muddy sections. No residual snow is observed.

Under these conditions, challenging rock sections such as Kani-no-Tatebai, Kani-no-Yokobai, and the chain sections on Betsuyama Ridge and Hayatsuki Ridge will be extremely slippery. The risk of falling and rockfall, which is among the highest in Japan, is significantly elevated. Helmets are mandatory, but be mindful of reduced grip on chains with wet gloves. Movement is exceedingly dangerous, and we strongly advise general climbers to cancel their plans.

Given the perceived temperature of around 6°C at 2951.48m, waterproof and breathable rainwear is essential. Wear a quick-drying base layer and an insulating mid-layer like fleece. Be prepared to put on additional insulation immediately if you feel cold, as continuous exposure to rain increases the risk of hypothermia. Choose mountaineering boots with high friction performance for wet rock and continuously replenish energy with trail food.

Rain will continue into the evening and night, with temperatures remaining around 8°C. While no thunderstorms are forecast, summer mountains are prone to sudden lightning, which is life-threatening on exposed ridges.
