A significant temperature difference exists compared to the base, necessitating appropriate layering for daytime activities. The morning is expected to remain clear with visibility exceeding 19km, offering excellent views of the crater lake group and distant landscapes.

Ground conditions are dry with no precipitation. On the white volcanic gravel slopes above the tree line, particular attention must be paid to loose rocks due to the dry conditions. While visibility is excellent for ascending Kengamine, gusts are forecast to strengthen up to 12.4 m/s in the afternoon. Prudent movement is required on the exposed ridges to maintain balance. As an active volcano, carrying a helmet is strongly recommended as standard equipment for Mount Ontake.

Despite the daytime temperature rising to 12.7℃ to 15.1℃, the high altitude demands a base layer, a fleece or similar mid-layer, and a light outer shell for wind protection and temperature regulation. The risk of thunderstorms is low, but the afternoon gusts could impact ridge travel, so an early start is advisable. No significant alert values were detected by the automated risk assessment system.

The sky will become partly cloudy in the afternoon, trending towards overcast by evening. Temperatures are expected to gradually drop, reaching the 9℃ range overnight. For extended activities, headlamps and additional warm clothing are essential.
