Conditions on Naeba Mountain's summit plateau begin calmly today. The day will transition from partly cloudy to cloudy, with temperatures stabilizing around 13°C. While the base of the mountain enjoys a warm 18.8°C, a significant 7.3°C temperature difference necessitates proper cold weather gear for the summit. Winds will remain light, with gusts peaking at 4.8 m/s, ensuring comfortable movement across the expansive Naeba Wetland. Visibility is expected to remain good, offering excellent views of the pond (ike-to) and alpine flowers.

Ground conditions are generally dry, though wooden boardwalks within the wetland may be slippery due to morning dew or previous moisture. Stepping off the boardwalks is strictly prohibited to protect the delicate wetland ecosystem and prevent falls. Hikers ascending via the Haraigawa or Koakazawa Courses will find the transition from the forest to the open plateau less exposed to strong winds today. Despite a high chance of precipitation, the forecast indicates zero rainfall, suggesting a low risk of thunderstorms.

The perceived temperature is expected to range from the low to mid-10s°C. Essential layering includes a moisture-wicking base layer, a fleece or light down mid-layer, and a windproof and waterproof outer shell. Adjust layers as needed during activity and ensure you stay warm during breaks. Temperatures will drop to around 9°C overnight, with winds slightly increasing, but no significant adverse weather is anticipated. Basic hiking gear and rainwear are essential. Crampons or microspikes are not required.
