The summit of Mt. Iwate is mostly clear, but visibility is less than 1km, enveloped in fog. The temperature is 7.9°C, feeling like 6.3°C due to 90% humidity. Although the wind speed is a gentle 1.3m/s, the high humidity can make the cold feel more intense, especially when wet. There is an 8.2°C difference from the base, indicating that winter-like gear is still necessary at the summit even in summer. No precipitation is observed, so the ground is likely damp but not heavily muddy.

Under these limited visibility conditions, extreme caution is required, particularly along the rim of the Yakushidake Crater, a key feature of Mt. Iwate's O-hachi-meguri route, where loose rocks are present. Poor visibility significantly increases the risk of falls or slips. Maintain core body temperature with quick-drying base layers, an insulating fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell to prevent hypothermia. Always carry rain gear and warm clothing.

Visibility is expected to improve and temperatures to rise to 14.1°C by afternoon. However, the evening will turn partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to 6.5°C overnight. Wind speeds may also increase to 2.2m/s with gusts up to 6m/s at times. Continuous monitoring of temperature and visibility changes is crucial throughout your activity until its completion.
