Naeba Summit is currently experiencing light drizzle with visibility less than 1km, temperature at 9.3℃, feeling like 6.9℃. The base at 1006m is 16.1℃, highlighting a significant temperature difference that will be felt during ascent. Light drizzle is expected to continue throughout the morning, briefly clearing to partly cloudy around noon, but intensifying again to light drizzle from 3 PM. Expect heavier drizzle with increased precipitation by 6 PM.

The extensive summit plateau, characterized by its vast high-altitude wetlands, will be continuously wet. Ground conditions range from wet to muddy, making footing slippery. Wooden boardwalks will also be slick, and stepping off them is strictly prohibited to protect the delicate wetland ecosystem. Navigational challenges are severe due to the dense fog and limited visibility across the 4km wide plateau, making route finding extremely difficult. Thorough use of map, compass, and GPS is essential, along with careful attention to trail markers.

The effective temperature will remain between 5℃ and 10℃ throughout the day. A quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable rain suit are mandatory. Being wet and exposed to winds around 4m/s significantly increases the risk of hypothermia. Carry extra warm layers and gloves, and be prepared to change into dry clothes or make an early decision to descend if conditions deteriorate.
