Currently, the Kuju summit is cloudy with a visibility of 2.8 km. The temperature is 14 degrees Celsius, feeling like 13.8 degrees Celsius. Humidity is high at 98%, indicating moist air. While the morning remains cloudy, drizzle is expected by noon, escalating to full rain in the afternoon with a 100% chance of precipitation. Although winds are light, getting wet from the rain will rapidly drop the perceived temperature.

Ground conditions will quickly transition from wet to muddy. Especially on the ridges leading from Makunoto Pass towards Mount Kuju and Mount Nakadake, reduced visibility due to rain and high humidity increases the risk of getting lost in the fog. Volcanic rock sections, characteristic of this mountain range, will also become slippery when wet, requiring careful footing.

Waterproof and breathable rain gear, both jacket and pants, are essential. Opt for a fast-drying base layer and a light fleece or synthetic mid-layer for easy temperature regulation through layering. Carry gloves and a hat to prevent hypothermia from getting wet. While the risk of lightning is low, the hazards of poor visibility and wetness are significant. Avoid prolonged activity, and it is advisable to plan for an early descent before the rain becomes heavy.
