Current conditions on Mt. Shari are cloudy with temperatures at the summit around 4.8°C, feeling like 2.5°C. Lower elevations are 10°C. Winds are light, under 5m/s gusting, ensuring good visibility of over 18km.

Throughout the day, temperatures will rise slightly to a peak of 8.3°C around noon before gradually dropping in the afternoon. Winds will remain light, posing no significant challenge. However, a significant temperature drop of 7°C is forecast from afternoon to early morning, with summit temperatures nearing 0°C overnight.

Ground conditions, especially on the Old Route (Kyudo) with its series of waterfalls, will be wet and slippery due to perpetually damp rocks and moss, despite no precipitation being forecast. Muddy sections are also likely. This route presents a specific slip and fall risk.

No snow or ice is present, so crampons or microspikes are not required. However, waterproof and windproof outerwear (jacket and pants) is essential for protection against wind and potential wetness, and as a crucial layer against the predicted temperature drop. Carry extra insulation layers, such as a fleece or light down jacket, to manage the sudden cooling. Good grip hiking boots are highly recommended for the wet terrain. While daytime climbing is feasible, be mindful of the afternoon temperature decline and the slippery conditions in the ravines. It is advisable to conclude your activity early. Avoid prolonged stops and maintain body warmth by consuming adequate food and water.
