Zao Range summit at 7:30 AM shows mostly clear skies, a temperature of 9.6℃, and a feels-like temperature of 7.4℃. Visibility extends beyond 20km, offering excellent views across the landscape. While some light cloud cover is expected around midday, generally fair weather will prevail throughout the day, providing an ideal window for high-altitude exploration. Winds will be light from the southeast to east-southeast, with gusts reaching up to 13.4m/s. The classic ridge traverse from Mount Katta to Mount Kumano and Mount Jizo will offer comfortable and scenic conditions all day.

The feels-like temperature at the summit during the day will be in the upper 6s℃. Therefore, a wicking base layer, a thin fleece or wool mid-layer, and a windproof outer shell are essential for maintaining comfort. It is also advisable to carry an additional insulating layer, such as a light down vest, for breaks or when exposed to stronger winds. The ground is currently dry with no concerns about mud or residual snow. No special traction equipment like crampons or microspikes is needed for current conditions.

Strictly observe the entry restrictions around the crater lake Okama, as it is a protected area. Expect a mix of experienced hikers and general tourists, especially near accessible points via the ropeway or sky cable, so proceed with consideration for others. While the risk of thunderstorms is low, be mindful of strong gusts on exposed ridges that could cause a loss of balance.
