Visibility is poor, less than 1km, which could complicate route-finding along the New Route's ridge section. The Old Route's stream section is particularly hazardous, as the rocks and fallen trees along the stream are likely wet and slippery. Combined with the poor visibility, this significantly elevates the risk of slipping and falling, demanding extremely cautious movement.

Ground conditions are anticipated to be wet to muddy. While there is no snow depth, microspikes could provide added security in the stream section. Essential gear includes a full waterproof and breathable rain suit, thick gloves, a warm hat, and insulating layers such as fleece or a light down jacket. Although lightning risk is low, gusts up to 13 m/s could cause instability on exposed ridges.

Temperatures will remain below freezing into the evening, with light drizzle forecast for early morning. The risk of hypothermia due to wetness persists, so plan for an early start and descent. Be aware that this area is a habitat for brown bears, and always carry appropriate bear deterrents.
