Tokachidake summit is mostly clear with excellent visibility exceeding 20 kilometers. Daytime temperatures will range from 12 to 14 degrees Celsius, with a difference of approximately 7.5 degrees from the base. Along the ridge from the Bokaidai Course, the ground is expected to be dry and rocky with no snow accumulation. Similar conditions are anticipated around the Taisho Eruption Crater and Shin-Funkako.

Winds during the day will be westerly, with gusts reaching up to 10.5 meters per second. While you will feel the wind above the treeline, it is not strong enough to impede movement. However, balance should be maintained, especially in exposed areas around the craters, where the wind chill might temporarily intensify. With an estimated daytime wind chill of 9 to 14 degrees Celsius, a quick-drying base layer, a light fleece, and a windproof shell are recommended. Carry an additional insulating layer, such as a light down jacket, for breaks or periods of inactivity.

The automated risk assessment indicates a rapid temperature drop of 7 degrees Celsius towards the evening. If you experience a sudden chill during your daytime activities, consider an early turnaround. Although the chance of precipitation is zero throughout the day, reducing the risk of lightning, mountain weather can change quickly. Carry rain gear as a precaution, which can also serve as a windbreak.

The trails are dry, so crampons or microspikes are not necessary. Always be mindful of sections with potentially high volcanic gas concentrations, as Tokachidake is an active volcano.
