Shari-dake starts the day under clear skies. The summit temperature is 13.1℃, feeling like 10.5℃. Be aware of the 3.9℃ temperature difference from the base. Temperatures will rise to 16.6℃ by midday, but gusts are expected to reach 11.1m/s. While the New Trail along the ridge may experience temporary strong winds, they are not severe enough to halt activity. Visibility is excellent, exceeding 20km, offering superb views of the Okhotsk Sea.

Ground conditions are generally dry, but the Old Trail, a stream route with continuous waterfalls, remains wet in many sections. Extreme caution is advised against slipping on mossy rocks and wet footing. Although the risk of flash floods is low, the slippery terrain demands careful movement. As Shari-dake is a known habitat for brown bears, carry a bear bell or whistle and manage food properly.

For layering, wear a quick-drying base layer, a light mid-layer, and a windproof and waterproof outer shell. While you may feel warm during activity, be prepared for temporary drops in perceived temperature to around 5℃ during gusts or breaks. Warm layers are essential. Crampons or microspikes are not needed, but rain gear must be carried for wind protection. The risk of thunderstorms is extremely low.

Clouds will begin to gather in the evening, but no precipitation is forecast. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 10℃. For any activity after sunset, bring a headlamp and sufficient warm clothing to cope with falling temperatures and reduced visibility.
