Mount Shari summit is currently cloudy with a temperature of 7.2 degrees Celsius, feeling like 5.2 degrees Celsius. This is a significant drop compared to the 13 degrees Celsius at the base. Visibility is already poor, below 1 kilometer, indicating dense fog.

Light drizzle is expected to begin around 9 AM, transitioning to light rain by noon. A rapid temperature drop is forecast for the afternoon, with the summit temperature reaching 5 degrees Celsius by 3 PM. With a wind speed of 4.5 meters per second, the felt temperature will be below freezing. Exposure to rain, wind, and these low temperatures significantly increases the risk of hypothermia. The Old Route (Kyudo), characterized by continuous waterfalls, will become extremely slippery due to rain, increasing the risk of falls and potential flash floods. Extreme caution is advised.

A sharp temperature decrease of 9 degrees Celsius is expected during the forecast period. It is crucial to carry an extra insulating layer from the start to prepare for sudden changes in conditions. Wear a quick-drying base layer, multiple mid-layers like fleece or light down, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell to protect against rain and wind. Gloves and a hat are also essential. While there is no snow, the ground will be wet and muddy from the rain. Good grip hiking boots and trekking poles will be beneficial.

By 6 PM, gusts of up to 19.8 meters per second are expected. The New Route (Shindo), which involves exposed ridges, will become extremely dangerous due to strong winds and poor visibility. Attempting to reach the summit today is not recommended, and an early decision to turn back should be made.
