As of 7 AM, Tomamu Summit is partly cloudy with a temperature of 9.6℃, feeling like 6.7℃. Winds are currently light but expected to pick up throughout the day. The ground is dry with no snow cover, so crampons or microspikes are not necessary.

By noon, the temperature will rise to 13.8℃, but winds will increase to 5.29 m/s with gusts up to 13.2 m/s. From 3 PM onwards, winds will strengthen further, with gusts exceeding 13.6 m/s. The summit area at 1182m, especially around the Unkai Terrace, will be significantly affected by these strong winds. Although easily accessible by gondola, the effective temperature will remain in the single digits throughout the day due to the wind chill.

A windproof and waterproof outer layer is essential. Always carry a mid-layer such as fleece. Under-dressing poses a risk of hypothermia due to the strong winds and low effective temperatures. After sunset, winds will intensify to 6.51 m/s with gusts up to 15.7 m/s, making the effective temperature even colder. It is advisable to avoid activity on the summit during these hours. Be prepared with adequate gear and a solid plan.
