Current summit conditions on Mount Ontake are 0.7 degrees Celsius, with a wind chill of -2.6 degrees Celsius. There is a temperature difference of over 10 degrees from the base. Daytime temperatures will hover around 2 degrees Celsius, but light drizzle is expected around noon with a high chance of precipitation at 94%. Visibility is currently less than 1 kilometer, requiring caution for poor visibility around Kengamine peak and the crater lakes from early morning.

The white volcanic gravel slopes above the tree line, characteristic of active volcano Mount Ontake, will become slippery with the drizzle. Pay attention to loose rocks and move carefully. Carrying a helmet is essential. For layering, wear a quick-drying base layer, a fleece or light down mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell as an outer layer to protect against wetness and cold.

Gusts will not reach strong wind levels, with a maximum of 8.4 meters per second, but getting wet from the drizzle will lower the perceived temperature, increasing the risk of hypothermia. Particular caution is needed when moving along ridges. Take frequent breaks during activity and change wet clothing promptly. The drizzle is expected to subside after 3 PM, with clear skies returning by evening, but temperatures will drop to -2 degrees Celsius overnight, so continuing activity is not advisable.
