Shari-dake summit currently experiences light drizzle with a perceived temperature of 8.6°C. There is nearly a 5°C difference compared to the base. Light drizzle is expected to persist until around 9:00 AM, making the Old Route (Renzoku-suru-taki, a series of waterfalls) section of the Kiyosato-so loop route particularly wet and slippery. Exercise extreme caution on rocky areas, ladders, and along the stream. While the risk of sudden flash floods in the stream is low, be vigilant against slips and falls.

From noon onwards, clear skies are forecast, with temperatures rising to the mid-13s°C. Visibility will improve, offering potential views of the Sea of Okhotsk. Although wet surfaces will gradually dry, damp moss and rocks will remain slippery. Ensure proper breaks and hydration.

Considering the current perceived temperature of 8.6°C, a quick-drying base layer, a mid-layer such as fleece, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell are essential. Layering should allow for easy adjustment as body temperature fluctuates during activity. Carry full rain gear, gloves, and a hat. Risks of strong winds and thunderstorms are low, and hypothermia can be avoided with appropriate layering and activity management.

Mount Shari-dake is a habitat for brown bears. Solo hikers and those entering the mountain during early morning or dusk hours should exercise extra caution and carry bear bells or other deterrents. While weather conditions are expected to improve in the afternoon, allow ample time for your descent to ensure safety.
