Niseko Hirafu summit is currently cloudy with a temperature of 14.9°C. The wind is very gentle from the northwest, and the feels like temperature of 15.6°C indicates comfortable conditions. There is approximately a 6°C temperature difference between the summit and the base. Light drizzle is forecasted around 9 AM, which will make the trails damp. The open trails of the Hirafu ski slopes are well-ventilated, but forest areas towards the tree runs will be more humid. The ground is expected to be wet from morning dew and potential drizzle, though not muddy.

The risk of thunderstorms is low. Strong winds are not a concern, with maximum gusts of 6.8 m/s during the day, posing no hindrance to ridge travel. Hypothermia risk is also low, but given the possibility of getting wet from the drizzle around 9 AM, carrying a lightweight waterproof-breathable shell is essential. In the forest areas near the side country gates, high humidity and visibility changes typical of wooded terrain should be noted.

The afternoon is expected to become mostly sunny, with temperatures gradually decreasing overnight. Winds will remain gentle and stable. Layering should include a base layer, a thin mid-layer, and a lightweight shell for wind and rain protection. An additional light fleece is recommended for breaks or cooler mornings and evenings. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary. Essential gear includes a rain suit (top and bottom), snacks, water, a headlamp, and a map/GPS.
