Niseko Annupuri will experience thunderstorms starting at 9 AM. The summit temperature is currently 15℃, with visibility less than 1km and expected to worsen significantly during the thunderstorms. There is a 6℃ temperature difference from the base, making the summit feel colder.

Ground conditions will rapidly transition from wet to muddy. Accessing the ridge is extremely dangerous due to thunderstorms and poor visibility. The exposed ridge areas of the Niseko Unified Area offer little shelter, posing a very high risk of lightning strikes. Gusts up to 8.9 m/s are expected, which combined with poor visibility, will make travel exceedingly difficult. Entry into the mountain is strongly discouraged today.

Should movement be unavoidable, full waterproof and breathable rain gear (jacket and pants) is essential. A quick-drying base layer and a mid-layer such as fleece are necessary to prevent hypothermia if soaked. Despite temperatures around 15℃, getting wet and exposed to wind can rapidly lower the perceived temperature, increasing the risk of hypothermia. Due to poor visibility, always carry a map, compass or GPS, and a headlamp.

Thunderstorms will persist through the afternoon, with a possibility of light hail around noon. Conditions may ease by evening, but the ground will remain wet, requiring caution on slippery sections.
