Kuju Mountains are experiencing a rainy morning. Summit temperatures are 15.6℃, feeling like 15.2℃, and will remain in the mid-15s throughout the day. With 98% humidity and continuous rain, visibility is limited to 2.5km. This low visibility poses a significant risk of getting lost, especially in the expansive Kuju area. Particular caution is advised on ridges around Mt. Nakadake and Mt. Kuju, and routes to Bogatsuru Marsh, where terrain recognition can be challenging.

Ground conditions are assessed as wet to muddy. The main course from Makinoto Pass will also be very wet and slippery in many sections. Extreme care is required with foot placement. For layering, wear a moisture-wicking base layer, a light fleece as a mid-layer, and waterproof-breathable rainwear (jacket and pants) as an essential outer layer. Carry an extra fleece or a light down jacket for warmth during breaks or in windy areas to maintain core body temperature.

Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 14.4m/s. There is a risk of losing balance on exposed ridges, demanding cautious movement. Although the temperature is in the mid-15s, the combination of rain, wind, and high humidity will make it feel significantly colder. Wet clothing can rapidly lead to hypothermia, so vigilance against this risk is crucial. While travel is possible, exercise maximum caution regarding poor visibility, slippery terrain, and the risk of hypothermia. Always verify your position with a GPS and map. Rain is forecast to stop by evening, but continued vigilance is necessary if you remain wet.
