Current conditions at Mt. Kita summit are cloudy with a temperature of 4.1°C and visibility below 1km. The temperature difference from Hirogawara at the base is over 10°C. Visibility is expected to remain limited throughout the day, with dense fog covering the summit areas. Light drizzle is forecast from around 3 PM, maintaining wet conditions.

Ridges and rocky sections will be damp. The risk of slipping increases, especially in steep rocky areas such as near Happonba-no-Col. Exercise extreme caution with every step and ensure three points of contact on exposed sections. While no significant alerts were detected by the automated risk assessment, poor visibility and low temperatures significantly impact activity. The wind chill temperature is expected to hover around 0°C to 2°C throughout the day, so be mindful of hypothermia due to perspiration during activity.

Essential gear includes a moisture-wicking base layer, a fleece or lightweight down mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell. Gloves and a hat should also be carried and readily available, especially when pausing on the ridge. Waterproof rain gear is mandatory for the afternoon drizzle. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary, but sturdy hiking boots with good grip are recommended for the slippery rock sections.

Temperatures will remain around 5°C into the evening, with continued periods of light drizzle. Post-sunset activity carries higher risks due to poor visibility and low temperatures. Plan to conclude your activities early and consider staying at a mountain hut.
