Mount Tokachidake's summit is experiencing calm and clear conditions this morning at 7:00 AM. The temperature is 8.8°C, feeling like 7.1°C, with a gentle wind speed of 1.14 m/s and excellent visibility of 6.6 km. Temperatures are expected to rise to between 10°C and 13°C during the day (9 AM to 3 PM), making the ascent via the Bogakudai Course comfortable. Ground conditions are dry with exposed rock and dirt paths, as there has been no precipitation and no snow cover. Crampons or microspikes are not required.

Clouds are anticipated to build in the afternoon, with partly cloudy skies expected around 3 PM. Gusts could reach up to 7.8 m/s during this time. As the Tokachidake ridge above the treeline is susceptible to wind, always carry a windproof shell. Be continuously aware of the wind direction and any changes in your physical condition, especially in areas with potentially high volcanic gas concentrations.

For thermal protection, choose a quick-drying base layer, a light fleece for your mid-layer, and a windproof shell as an outer layer. It is recommended to carry an additional insulating layer, such as a light down jacket or another fleece, for breaks or in case of deteriorating weather. While the risk of lightning is low, the probability of precipitation rises to 39% after 3 PM, so keep an eye on the sky.

Light drizzle is possible around 6 PM, but the precipitation amount will be minimal. Clearer skies are expected again afterward. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 6°C, so for day hikers, descent before sunset is advised.
