Light drizzle is expected to begin during the day, intensifying to full rain by 3 PM, with precipitation reaching 5.1mm and high humidity continuing.

Under these conditions, trails will be generally wet and muddy. Especially on the Daisetsukei (Great Snow Valley) section, where you will be walking on residual snow, the rain will make the surface slippery, significantly increasing the risk of slips and post-holing. Even in summer, crampons are required on this section, and given today's rain and dense fog, light crampons or chain spikes are essential gear. Due to poor visibility, extreme caution is advised for route finding on the Sarukura to Shiroumajiri to Summit route.

The perceived temperature will hover between 5 to 8 degrees Celsius throughout the day, but getting wet significantly increases the risk of hypothermia. Be sure to wear a moisture-wicking base layer, an insulating mid-layer such as fleece, and waterproof and breathable rainwear for both top and bottom. Although wind speeds are mild, poor visibility due to dense fog and rain will greatly hinder movement. While no thunderstorms are forecast, a cautious action plan and early start are recommended. The weather is expected to clear up at night, offering a chance for stargazing, but temperatures will drop further to around 5 degrees Celsius, so ensure adequate cold weather protection.
