Today, Mount Tokachidake experiences calm, cloudy conditions. The summit currently registers 4.6℃ with a perceived temperature of 1.9℃. Forecasts indicate temperatures will rise to around 8.8℃ during the day. Wind speeds remain gentle, with gusts up to 7.1m/s, and no precipitation is expected. There is no snow cover, and the ground is generally dry, but high humidity limits visibility to 2.2km. A temperature difference of 7.4℃ exists between the summit and the base, necessitating appropriate cold weather gear as you ascend.

Mount Tokachidake is an active volcano, and areas around Taisho and Shin-Fukako craters are known for high volcanic gas concentrations. With light winds today, gas is prone to lingering. Pay close attention to wind direction and your physical condition; if you experience any abnormalities, make the immediate decision to turn back. Even on open routes like the Bogakudai Course, caution is advised against disorientation in limited visibility.

While the risk of hypothermia is low during active hiking, perceived temperatures can drop sharply during breaks or sudden weather changes. Essential layering includes a wicking base layer, a mid-layer such as fleece, and a windproof, waterproof shell. Always carry an insulating layer like a down jacket for breaks. Rain gear is mandatory. Crampons or microspikes are not currently needed. Risks of lightning and strong winds are low.

Temperatures will gradually fall from evening into night, reaching 1.4℃ by early morning. Any activity after sunset requires stringent cold weather protection and a headlamp.
