This morning, Mt. Akadake summit is shrouded in dense fog, with visibility less than 1km. The temperature is 6℃, and humidity is high at 99%, maintaining a chilly atmosphere. While the base is 14.9℃ and cloudy, a significant temperature drop due to elevation is evident. Although there might be brief periods of light cloud cover during the day, heavy drizzle is expected to begin around noon, transitioning to steady rain in the afternoon. Consistently low temperatures will persist throughout the day.

Particularly, the afternoon rainfall will wet the exposed rocky ridges, making the chain sections on the Bunzaburo-one and Jizo-one routes extremely slippery. Coupled with poor visibility, the risk of falling significantly increases, requiring extreme caution for all movements. Severe vigilance against route loss due to dense fog is also necessary. Attempting to reach the summit is not advisable under these conditions.

The felt temperature will remain around 3-5℃ even during the day. The risk of hypothermia is elevated due to exposure to rain and low temperatures, making waterproof and breathable outer layers essential. A mid-weight merino wool base layer and a fleece mid-layer should be prepared, adjusting as needed during activity. While crampons or chain spikes are not required, choose hiking boots with excellent grip suitable for slippery rock sections.

Rain will intensify and winds will pick up towards evening. Gusts are forecast to reach 10.4m/s by 9 PM and 12.4m/s by midnight. Completing your activity by daylight and a swift retreat are strongly recommended.
