As of 8 AM, the Tateyama O-yama summit area is mostly clear with a temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind speed of 0.58 m/s. Visibility is good at 6.7 km. There is a 3.5-degree Celsius temperature difference compared to Murodo base. While the morning is expected to remain fine, light drizzle is forecast to begin around noon, with a 98% chance of light rain by 3 PM. The ground is snow-free and mostly exposed rock, but it will become wet and slippery with the afternoon drizzle. Some muddy sections may also develop.

On the Murodo to Ichinokoshi to O-yama summit route, be wary of drizzle and poor visibility from noon onwards. Especially on the steep ascent from Ichinokoshi, wet rocks and steps increase the risk of slipping, and poor visibility can delay spotting falling rocks. Exercise extreme caution.

The apparent temperature at 2993 meters is 6.6 degrees Celsius at 8 AM. It is expected to remain between 5 and 7 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, but getting wet from the drizzle will accelerate heat loss, increasing the risk of hypothermia. Essential layering includes a wicking long-sleeve base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable rain jacket and pants as an outer layer. Gloves and a knit hat should also be carried. If you plan to ascend to the O-yama summit in the afternoon, either start early or be prepared to turn back.

Rain is expected to cease after 6 PM, with clear skies returning. However, temperatures will drop to around 4 degrees Celsius overnight. Ensure adequate cold weather gear if you plan to stay overnight.
