The base is significantly warmer at 13.3°C, indicating a considerable temperature inversion. Throughout the day, partly cloudy skies will dominate, and temperatures are expected to gradually rise, reaching 7°C by noon. While winds are currently light, they will pick up from the south in the afternoon, with gusts potentially reaching 11.8 m/s by 3 PM. The exposed white volcanic scree slopes above the treeline, especially around Ken-ga-mine, will be susceptible to these winds, leading to a noticeable drop in perceived temperature.

The ground is snow-free and dry to damp, with no precipitation expected during the day. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary. However, light drizzle is forecast from late evening into early morning, making some rocky sections potentially wet and slippery. Rain gear is essential. Although the daytime perceived temperature will remain above freezing, it is crucial to carry appropriate layering, including a base layer, mid-layer, and a windproof outer shell, to prevent hypothermia during breaks or on windy ridges.

The risk of thunderstorms is low, but be cautious of strong gusts in the afternoon. Exercise extreme care when traversing exposed ridges to avoid being blown off balance. Temperatures will drop close to 0°C from night into early morning, increasing the risk of hypothermia for anyone lingering on the mountain. Day trips are strongly advised, and overnight stays should be avoided if possible. Always carry a helmet as a precautionary measure.
