However, light drizzle is expected to begin around noon, with a near certainty of continuing into the afternoon by 3 PM. Ground conditions will shift from dry to wet, making scree areas particularly slippery. Exercise caution with foot placement.

As an active volcano, Mount Meakan poses a risk of acute sulfur gas poisoning near the fumarole clusters. The wind direction is forecast to shift from SW to S and SSW in the afternoon. This shift increases the risk of inhaling gas on routes downwind of the fumaroles. Always monitor wind changes and minimize time spent in active gas venting areas.

A significant temperature drop of 7°C is expected over the forecast period. Getting wet from the afternoon drizzle, combined with the rapid temperature decrease towards evening, elevates the risk of hypothermia. Wear a quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell. Carry an additional fleece or a light down jacket as a backup for stops or emergencies. Make early decisions to turn back if conditions deteriorate. Thunderstorm risk is low, but gusts up to 9m/s are expected during the day, which will lower the perceived temperature.
