Tokachi-dake begins the day calmly. The summit feels cool at 1.8°C, with temperatures rising to 7.3°C during the day. Winds will remain light, with gusts up to 8.4 m/s. For routes like the Bogakudai Course or Shintoku Course, the ground will predominantly be dry with no snow cover.

The weather is expected to deteriorate slightly in the afternoon. Light drizzle may begin around 3 PM, with precipitation chances increasing towards evening. This could lead to wet and potentially muddy conditions on the ground. Always carry a waterproof outer shell during your ascent.

As an active volcano, Tokachi-dake has sections around the Taisho eruption crater and New eruption crater where volcanic gas concentrations can be high. Given the light winds today, there is a possibility for gas to linger, so continuously monitor your physical condition and be aware of any changes.

The perceived temperature will range from approximately 2°C to 4°C throughout the day. A layering system consisting of a synthetic base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a windproof and waterproof outer shell should provide adequate protection. It is advisable to carry an additional insulating layer, such as a thin down jacket, for breaks or in case of worsening weather. While there are no significant risks from lightning or strong winds, temperatures will drop close to 0°C at night, so even for a day trip, do not neglect cold weather preparations.
