Drizzle and light rain are expected to continue throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from 0.8℃ to 1.5℃, but the wind chill will consistently keep the perceived temperature below freezing. Trails will be wet, and volcanic ash areas around Taisho Crater and Shinhunkako will become muddy, requiring careful footing.

Visibility is currently over 14km but may decrease due to drizzle. Waterproof and breathable outer layers are essential. A quick-drying base layer, a fleece or light down mid-layer, waterproof hiking boots, and gaiters are crucial to combat wetness and cold. Waterproof and insulated gloves and a hat are also necessary. The risk of hypothermia is extremely high due to low temperatures and precipitation, and inadequate protection warrants considering cancellation of any activity.

Rain will intensify from evening into night, with temperatures dropping to 0℃ to -0.7℃. Winds will also pick up, with gusts of 18.1m/s expected by 9 PM and 18.8m/s by midnight. Strong winds above the tree line on the Tokachi Mountain Range traverse and the upper sections of the Bogakudai course will make travel difficult, increasing the risk of falls and rapid body temperature drops. Even for short daytime excursions, comprehensive waterproof and thermal protection is critical. Nighttime travel carries extremely high risks of hypothermia and strong winds and should be avoided.
