Mount Tomuraushi summit is currently mostly clear, with a temperature of 8.9°C and a feels like temperature of 7.9°C. Visibility is somewhat limited at 1.5km. Light drizzle is forecast from noon to around 3 PM, with temperatures remaining around 9°C. Although winds will be light during the day, the drizzle will maintain humid conditions.

The current snow depth is 49cm. Snowmelt will progress due to rising daytime temperatures and drizzle, resulting in a mix of residual snow, muddy sections, and exposed rock on the trails. Particular caution is advised on wet rocks in areas like the Lock Garden, where large rock formations are present. This mountain range experiences weather conditions comparable to 3000m peaks in Honshu, and its long, challenging routes make day trips difficult, requiring careful time management.

A sharp temperature drop of 11°C is anticipated during the forecast period, with summit temperatures falling to -1.2°C overnight. To prepare for sudden changes during your trek, carry an extra layer of insulation from the start. Base, mid, and waterproof breathable outer layers are essential, along with additional insulating layers such as down. For traversing residual snow, waterproof hiking boots, gaiters, and light crampons or microspikes should be carried. Rain gear is mandatory.

While the risk of lightning is low, the risk of hypothermia due to the overnight chill is high. Although winds are generally light, always be mindful of the potential for sudden weather changes, similar to the 2009
