Currently, the summit of Mt. Meakan is partly cloudy with a temperature of 14.1℃, feeling like 11.1℃. Winds are light from the south at 2.11m/s. From 9 AM onwards, clear skies will prevail throughout the day. By noon, the temperature will rise to 18.8℃, with a wind chill of 8.96℃ during gusts, making for comfortable hiking conditions. Winds will shift to the southwest, with maximum gusts reaching 12.3m/s. The ground is dry with no precipitation or snow. As Mt. Meakan is an active volcano, there is a risk of acute sulfur gas poisoning near the crater lakes (Akanuma, Aonuma) and fumarole groups, depending on wind direction. During the day, with stronger southwest winds, particular caution is needed on routes downwind from the fumaroles. When ascending via the Onneto Course and circling the crater rim, carefully check wind direction and gas conditions.

For layering, a quick-drying short-sleeved T-shirt as a base, with a light long-sleeved shirt or fleece as a mid-layer. Carry a wind shell as an outer layer. While a T-shirt may suffice for much of the day, wear a mid-layer during breaks or in windy areas. Crampons and microspikes are not necessary. Carry rain gear as a precaution. As indicated by the automated risk assessment, a rapid temperature drop of 8℃ is expected during the forecast period. From 19.1℃ at 3 PM to 9.5℃ at 9 PM, temperatures will drop sharply after sunset. Carry an extra insulating layer and aim to finish your activity early. The risk of lightning during the day is extremely low. Strong winds are not expected to impede movement, but caution is advised on loose scree slopes to prevent falls.
