The temperature stands at 6.4 degrees Celsius, but the wind chill makes it feel like 3.1 degrees Celsius. There is an 8.3-degree Celsius difference compared to the base, indicating significantly colder conditions at the summit. While clear skies are expected from midday, strong winds are forecast to develop during this period.

Specifically, from 12:00 to 15:00, gusts are predicted to reach 17 to 18.9 meters per second. On exposed ridges, particularly around the twin peaks of Toma-no-mimi and Oki-no-mimi, these strong winds can easily cause loss of balance, significantly increasing the risk of falls and slips. Combined with the current poor visibility, the risk of route loss due to dense fog remains. Extremely cautious movement on the ridges is imperative, and the decision to turn back should be made if necessary.

The ground is expected to be wet, with exposed rock and muddy sections, due to the current drizzle and 99% humidity. There is no snow, so crampons or microspikes are not required. However, wet rocks are very slippery, and extreme caution is advised, especially on steep ascents like the Nishikuro-one route. Wind chill temperatures are expected to drop below freezing when the winds intensify. A base layer, mid-layer, and waterproof-breathable outer shell are essential. Carry an insulated jacket, waterproof gloves, and a hat for warmth during stops and to prevent hypothermia.

Winds are expected to subside by evening, leading to a clear and calm night, though temperatures will drop to around 3 degrees Celsius. Do not underestimate the conditions based on the daytime improvement; plan your activities with ample margin.
