Mount Akatake summit is experiencing a mild, partly cloudy morning. The observed temperature is 5.3 degrees Celsius, feeling like 3.3 degrees Celsius, with light winds. The partly cloudy conditions are expected to persist through the day, with increasing sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to rise to 7.7 degrees Celsius by noon and 8.4 degrees Celsius by 3 PM. Note the significant temperature difference of over 8 degrees Celsius between the summit and the base.

While winds are generally calm, gusts up to 10.1 m/s are possible around noon. On the exposed rocky ridges characteristic of Yatsugatake, particularly on the chain sections of Bunzaburo-one and Jizo-one, careful movement is advised to avoid being unbalanced by sudden wind bursts. The summit currently has no snow cover, and the ground is predominantly dry, exposed rock. There is no precipitation, so the risk of muddy conditions is low. Crampons or chain spikes are not necessary.

Although the perceived temperature during activity will be comfortable, it can become chilly during breaks on the ridge or when winds pick up. Therefore, it is essential to carry quick-drying base layers, fleece or thin wool mid-layers, and a windproof and waterproof shell. Gloves and a hat are also recommended. The risk of thunderstorms is very low, and the risk of hypothermia remains low with proper layering and activity management. After sunset, temperatures will drop to around 2 degrees Celsius, so adequate insulation is crucial for those planning overnight stays or night travel.
