At the summit of Mt. Meakan, current conditions are 2.5°C with a felt temperature of -2.1°C, nearly 5°C colder than the base. Cloudy skies are forecast throughout the day, with temperatures gradually rising to 7.7°C. However, south winds of around 5m/s, with gusts exceeding 15m/s at times, will keep the felt temperature below 0°C for extended periods. A quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a windproof/waterproof outer shell are essential. Gloves and a knit cap should also be carried.

Despite no precipitation, ground conditions are generally dry with no snow cover. However, the combination of wind chill and 55% humidity suggests that scree slopes may be dusty yet damp, increasing the risk of slips. Particular caution is advised on the scree sections of the Onneto course leading to the crater rim and during descent.

With forecasts indicating a shift in wind direction from south to southeast, the active volcano Mt. Meakan's fumaroles and crater lakes, such as Akanuma and Aonuma, are susceptible to sulfur gas. It is crucial to be aware of wind direction and gas flow, avoiding downwind areas. If any unusual conditions are observed, an immediate decision to turn back is necessary.

Temperatures will drop to around 1°C from 18:00 onwards. Light drizzle is expected from around 21:00, intensifying to drizzle by midnight. All mountain activities should conclude during daylight hours, and evening ascents should be avoided. Although visibility is currently good, prepare for changing weather by carrying a headlamp and extra warm layers.
