Hakkoda-san offers a splendid day for mountaineering under clear skies. Summit temperatures are expected to rise to 14.1 degrees Celsius by midday, with a comfortable feel of around 11 degrees Celsius, making for pleasant conditions. Winds will be light from the west, with maximum gusts remaining below 9.1 meters per second, indicating a very low risk of strong winds on exposed ridges. Visibility extends beyond 20 kilometers, promising panoramic views across the North and South Hakkoda ranges.

Trail conditions are anticipated to be largely dry. All snow has melted, rendering snow-specific equipment like crampons or microspikes unnecessary. The traverse route from the Hakkoda Ropeway's Tamoyachidake to Mt. Odake will primarily feature exposed rock, making for straightforward passage. However, some sections along wetlands, stream banks, or shaded depressions might retain moisture, presenting slippery footing. Around Jigokunuma (Hell Pond), volcanic gases are perpetually present, so it is advisable to minimize time spent there, pay attention to wind direction, and pass through promptly.

For layering, a moisture-wicking base layer, a light mid-layer, and a thin outer shell for wind protection during activity are recommended. For breaks or cooler morning and evening conditions, carrying an additional light fleece or down jacket is wise, as temperatures are forecast to drop into the low 8s degrees Celsius after dusk.
