Today, Kuju Mountains are blessed with clear skies and excellent visibility exceeding 20km. Summit temperatures will rise to around 10 degrees Celsius during the day, but early morning felt temperatures are below freezing, with about a 5-degree difference from the base. For those heading to Mt. Nakadake or Mt. Kuju from the Makinoto Pass course, it will be chilly at the start of the ascent. Wear a quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a windproof shell jacket as an outer layer. Adjust layers as needed during activity to regulate body temperature. Gloves and a hat are also recommended.

Ground conditions are generally dry, but wet areas and muddy patches are expected in shaded or hollow areas, such as around the Bogatsuru Marshland. Waterproof hiking boots are advisable. Crampons or microspikes are not needed. Winds are generally calm, but gusts of around 7m/s may be felt on ridges at times, so be mindful of a drop in perceived temperature and use a light down jacket for insulation during breaks. The risk of hypothermia is low, but be cautious of sweat chilling.

Clear skies will continue into the evening, but temperatures will drop to around 3 degrees Celsius overnight. Those staying overnight must have adequate cold weather gear. Overall, today presents excellent conditions for mountaineering.
