Mount Poroshiri is experiencing light drizzle from morning, with summit temperatures remaining below freezing. Current summit temperature is minus 2.9 degrees Celsius, feeling like minus 6.9 degrees. Daytime temperatures will hover around minus 2 to minus 2.6 degrees. Considering gusts of 10 meters per second, the felt temperature will be around minus 10 degrees Celsius, requiring thorough waterproof and cold weather protection. Wear a moisture-wicking base layer like merino wool, a fleece or light down mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell as an outer layer to prevent hypothermia.

Snow depth is 42 centimeters. The residual snow surface is wet from the drizzle, and with sub-freezing temperatures, expect icy patches and ice sheets, especially in shaded areas and within Poroshiri's unique cirque formations. The river crossings on the Nagabiragawa course are likely still covered in snow, but anticipate slippery conditions due to wetness. Visibility is currently poor at 1.7 kilometers. With continuous drizzle, visibility is unlikely to improve significantly during the day, making route finding on ridges and in cirques challenging.

By evening, light snow is expected, with temperatures dropping further to minus 7 degrees Celsius. Gusts will reach 16 meters per second, significantly increasing the risk of hypothermia. Limit activity to experienced climbers with adequate gear, and do not hesitate to turn back if conditions worsen. Microspikes or crampons and highly waterproof mountaineering boots are essential.
