As of 7 AM, the summit of Mt. Meakan is cloudy with a temperature of 5.5°C, feeling like 0°C due to a southwesterly wind blowing at 5.57 m/s with gusts up to 18.8 m/s. The temperature difference from the base is 4.9°C. Conditions are expected to improve from partly cloudy to clear skies during the day, with summit temperatures reaching 12°C around noon. However, strong southwesterly winds will persist, with gusts exceeding 18 m/s. Particular caution is advised on exposed ridges, such as those along the Onneto Course, where strong winds can cause loss of balance.

The wind chill will hover between 0°C and 4°C throughout the day. Wear a quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof and windproof shell as an outer layer for adequate insulation. Carry a light down jacket or similar insulating layer for breaks. The ground is expected to be dry with no snow cover, but on scree slopes, watch out for loose rocks and the risk of slipping due to strong winds. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary.

Given Mt. Meakan is an active volcano, sulfur gas may accumulate around the fumarole group depending on the wind direction. With today's southwesterly winds, pay attention to the smell of gas and be prepared to move away promptly if any abnormalities are detected. While the risk of lightning is low, be extremely cautious of hypothermia due to wind chill and the risk of losing balance in strong winds. Winds will slightly diminish in the evening, but temperatures will drop to around 4°C, so an early start and return are recommended.
