The Kuju Mountain Range is experiencing a clear and calm day. Main routes from Makinoto Pass to Mt. Nakadake and Mt. Kuju are expected to offer comfortable hiking conditions. Temperatures near the summit are forecast to exceed 20 degrees Celsius during the day, allowing for lighter clothing while active.

The ground is dry and generally easy to walk on. However, some sections of the volcanic soil can be slippery, so careful foot placement is advised. Maximum gusts in the afternoon are predicted to be around 8.5 m/s, indicating a low risk of strong winds on the ridges. The risk of thunderstorms is also low.

Despite the mild conditions, the exposed summit at 1759.75m can feel several degrees cooler when exposed to wind. With current temperatures at 18.3°C and a wind speed of 2.2 m/s, the perceived temperature is comfortable at around 18°C. However, especially in the mornings, evenings, or during breaks, wear light fleece or a wind shell to manage body temperature. While the risk of hypothermia is low, ensure frequent hydration to prevent heatstroke.

Always carry rain gear in case of sudden weather changes. Crampons or chain spikes are not necessary. Although calm weather is forecast throughout the day, winds are expected to pick up slightly in the early hours of July 29th. If descending towards Bogatsuru Wetland, be aware that there is little shade, necessitating ample precautions against heatstroke.
