Mount Iwate summit currently experiences light drizzle with visibility below 1 kilometer. The temperature is 10.4°C, feeling like 10.1°C, with high humidity at 98%. While light drizzle is expected to continue until around 9 AM, conditions are forecast to improve significantly by noon, turning to clear skies with the temperature rising to 14.1°C. Temperatures will further climb in the afternoon, reaching around 15.6°C by 3 PM. Due to the drizzle and high humidity, expect wet to muddy trail conditions.

For hiking in 10.1°C effective temperature, wear a base layer, a light mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable rain gear as an outer shell. Carry an additional fleece for insulation during stops. During the morning's low visibility, pay close attention to footing, especially around the rim of the Yakushidake Crater where loose rocks are common. The combination of wet conditions and cool temperatures poses a risk of hypothermia, so always carry rain gear and maintain body temperature with frequent energy intake.

Wind speeds at the summit are very gentle today, at 0.63 m/s with gusts up to 3.7 m/s, indicating a low risk of strong winds above the tree line. There are no indications of thunderstorms in the current forecast. Note the 8.6°C temperature difference between the summit and the base; while the base may feel comfortable, the summit remains cool. From afternoon into night, no precipitation is expected, with conditions shifting to partly cloudy or cloudy, and temperatures gradually dropping to 9.3°C by early tomorrow morning.
