The current summit condition of Mt. Tomuraushi is light rain, with a temperature of 11.6 degrees Celsius and a felt temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius. The temperature difference from the base is significant at 8.2 degrees Celsius, indicating a sharp drop in perceived temperature with altitude gain. Light rain is expected to continue from 9 AM to around 3 PM, with a high chance of precipitation around 90%. Consequently, the marshlands around Kita-numa and Minami-numa will be wet to muddy. The massive rock formations, including the Rock Garden, will be slippery when wet, requiring constant attention to footing. Visibility is currently 2.4 km but could worsen with continuous light rain, increasing the risk of getting lost in dense fog, a characteristic risk of this area as seen in the 2009 accident. While no sudden weather changes like the 2009 incident are forecast, always be aware that conditions are comparable to 3000-meter peaks on Honshu.

Although daytime temperatures will rise to a maximum of 15.3 degrees Celsius, the combination of rain and high humidity will make it feel colder, increasing the risk of hypothermia if you get wet. A moisture-wicking base layer, a thin fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell as an outer layer are essential. Waterproof gloves and a hat are also effective. The ground will remain wet throughout the day, so waterproof hiking boots are recommended, and a separate top and bottom rain suit is mandatory gear. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary. Wind speeds will not exceed gusts of approximately 7.7 m/s, posing no restriction on movement due to wind, but managing the risk of getting wet is crucial. After 6 PM, precipitation is expected to cease, and the weather will improve towards partly cloudy to cloudy conditions. Temperatures are forecast to drop to around 10 degrees Celsius overnight.
