Current conditions on Naeba-san summit show light overcast skies with a temperature of 14.1°C and 98% humidity. Visibility is less than 1km, indicative of dense fog. There is a 7.4°C temperature difference from the base. This poor visibility is expected to persist throughout the day. While there is no precipitation this morning, intermittent light drizzle is forecast from noon to around 3 PM. Although the precipitation amount is minimal, high humidity means the ground is already wet. Be especially careful on the boardwalks across the expansive wetland plateau at the summit, as they will be slippery. Stepping off the boardwalks is strictly prohibited to protect the fragile wetland ecosystem.

The apparent temperature will remain in the 14°C range due to light winds. Wear a moisture-wicking base layer, a fleece or light insulation as a mid-layer, and always carry a waterproof and breathable shell for both top and bottom, donning it promptly when needed. The afternoon drizzle increases the risk of hypothermia if clothing becomes wet, so wear rain gear proactively to prevent heat loss, even though overall risk is low.

There are no signs of thunderstorms, and winds are light with gusts up to 6.4m/s, posing no significant strong wind risk. However, the risk of getting lost in dense fog on the plateau is high. When ascending from routes like Harai-gawa or Koakazawa and reaching the summit plateau, constantly verify your position with a GPS or map and compass to ensure you stay on route. Conditions are expected to improve towards evening, but poor visibility will continue throughout the day.
