The day will be generally cloudy with visibility under 1km near the summit. On the New Trail ridge of the Kiyosato Lodge loop route, views of the Sea of Okhotsk are unlikely. Navigational caution is paramount due to limited visibility. Despite no current precipitation, high humidity means rocks and ladders on the Old Trail stream route are wet, demanding extreme care against slipping. While the risk of sudden stream swells is low, expect consistently wet footing.

The perceived temperature at the summit will hover around 10 to 12°C during the day. This is a significant drop from the 21°C at the base. Wear a base layer, a light fleece or synthetic shirt, and a windproof outer layer for breaks. Crampons or microspikes are not required, but waterproof trekking shoes and full rain gear are essential.

While strong winds are not a major daytime concern, gusts are forecast to exceed 24m/s by early morning, accompanied by light rain and temperatures dropping to 12°C. Nighttime activity on exposed ridges carries extreme risks of hypothermia and being windbound. As Shari-dake is a known bear habitat, exercise extra caution during early morning and dusk, especially if alone.
