北アルプスを代表する標高3,180mの鋭峰。槍状に天を突く山頂部から「日本のマッターホルン」と称され、登山者なら一度は登りたい憧れの山として親しまれている。
特徴・地形 Features
山頂部は三点支持を要する岩稜帯で、鎖場と鉄梯子が連続する。穂先（山頂直下）から見渡す槍沢、北鎌尾根、東鎌尾根のスケール感は圧巻。標高3,000mを超える稜線は森林限界を遥かに上回る。
ベストシーズン Best Season
7月中旬〜9月下旬が一般登山シーズン。残雪期（5月〜6月）と積雪期は雪上技術と装備が必須となるバリエーション領域。
