For layering, carry a quick-drying base layer, a light fleece or wind shell as a mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell as an outer layer. Gloves and a hat are also advisable. The ground is generally dry, but light mist is expected around 3 PM, which could make rocky areas and boardwalks slippery. Choose non-slip trekking shoes and proceed with caution.

Today, be vigilant about the "rapid temperature drop" indicated by the automated risk assessment. A temperature decrease of 7 degrees Celsius is forecast over the period. In particular, the light mist from afternoon to evening will lower the perceived temperature, and prolonged activity in wet conditions increases the risk of hypothermia. Carry an extra layer of insulation, and be prepared to turn back early if weather changes become significant. Near the fumarole groups of the active volcano Asahidake, gas may be an issue depending on wind direction.
