Conditions generally good — Conduct standard mountain safety measures
This morning, the summit of Mount Fuji is mostly clear with a temperature of 1.8 degrees Celsius, feeling around 0 degrees Celsius, and light winds. Throughout the day, it will remain partly cloudy with no precipitation, making daytime climbing feasible. The volcanic scree slopes of major routes like the Yoshida Trail and Fujinomiya Trail are currently dry and relatively stable underfoot. However, at 3776 meters, the highest peak in Japan, the risk of altitude sickness is ever-present, so maintain a conservative pace.
Winds will pick up slightly in the afternoon, with gusts reaching around 6 meters per second. Even on the exposed slopes above the tree line, this should not significantly impede daytime activities. Nevertheless, despite being summer, summit temperatures can drop below freezing. Adequate cold-weather gear is essential; ensure you carry a moisture-wicking base layer, a fleece or similar mid-layer, and waterproof-breathable outer shell jacket and pants. Don't forget gloves, a hat, and a headlamp for any unexpected delays.
The automated risk assessment indicates increased snowfall and avalanche warnings for tonight through early tomorrow morning. Light snow is expected to begin after 9 PM, intensifying to heavy snow by 3 AM on July 2nd, with up to 2.94 centimeters of snowfall per three hours. During this period, temperatures will drop below freezing, making the volcanic scree slippery with fresh snow. Furthermore, gusts are predicted to reach 17.7 meters per second by 3 AM.
Such strong winds combined with snowfall significantly increase the risk of whiteout conditions and hypothermia. While daytime climbing is possible, the weather deterioration overnight is substantial. All descents must be completed during daylight

Mountain Guide
概要 Overview
Features
Best Season
Main Routes
Cautions
Access
