Shari-dake summit is currently experiencing light drizzle with a real feel temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius, significantly colder than the base. A temperature difference of 5 degrees Celsius exists, with exposed ridges feeling even colder. Light drizzle is expected to persist through the morning, intensifying into thunderstorms by 3 PM. This precipitation will render the ground universally wet, especially the Old Trail (Kyudo) stream route, which will be muddy and prone to rapid swelling, making passage impossible and increasing the risk of slips and falls in areas with continuous waterfalls. Entry to the Old Trail route should be avoided today.

Appropriate layering for cold and wet conditions is essential. Wear a quick-drying base layer, a fleece or similar mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable outer jacket. Carry gloves and a hat to prevent hypothermia from getting wet. The thunderstorm forecast for the afternoon poses a high risk of lightning strikes, especially on exposed ridges. Current visibility is 4.6 kilometers but could worsen in persistent drizzle. Given Shari-dake is known as a habitat for brown bears, reduced visibility increases the risk of unexpected encounters.

While precipitation is expected to cease after 6 PM, with clear skies predicted overnight, considering the adverse daytime weather and specific risks of the mountain, it is advisable to cancel any planned activities for today and await more favorable conditions.
