Today on Niseko Annupuri, the morning will be cloudy and relatively calm. However, southeasterly winds are expected to strengthen significantly in the afternoon. Summit perceived temperatures, considering current conditions and wind chill, will hover between 7℃ and 12℃ throughout the day. For layering, a quick-drying base layer, a thin fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell as an outer layer are essential. Additionally, carry gloves and a warm hat to protect against the wind and chill.

Particular attention must be paid to the afternoon winds. Forecasts indicate gusts reaching up to 13.6 m/s at noon and 13.3 m/s by 3 PM. Areas with access to the ridge line, a key feature of Niseko Annupuri, will be fully exposed to these strong winds. This exposure will significantly lower the perceived temperature, increasing the risk of hypothermia. While current visibility is excellent at over 17km, prioritize early action and avoid prolonged exposure on the ridge to prevent exhaustion.

Trail conditions are currently dry to wet. However, light rain is expected to begin after 6 PM, intensifying into a thunderstorm from midnight. The probability of precipitation exceeds 90% from late afternoon, with over 7 mm of rainfall forecast for the late night. This transition means trails will become muddy and slippery. Therefore, full waterproof-breathable rainwear, including both jacket and pants, is mandatory. Any activity during the thunderstorm in the late night is extremely dangerous and must be avoided. It is strongly recommended to complete your descent before sunset, or at the very latest, by around 3 PM, to avoid worsening conditions.
